Sunday, January 18th – Swing Dance Practice Session!
Mike & Mary Richardson always look forward to going out to dance …. but time devoted to practice is equally important! In fact, the more we dance (and we’ve been dancing since 1999) the more we’ve learned about the importance of taking time to practice!
That’s what these Sunday Practice Sessions are about: an opportunity to swing dance, with great swing music, on the best dance floor in Lexington!
o Doors open, 6:15.
o 6:30-9:00 pm – Lots of great swing music for your dancing (and listening) enjoyment, DJ’d by Mike Richardson of the Hepcats.
o This is a practice session, so Mike the DJ takes requests. Better yet, if you have a favorite song you want to dance to – bring it – and we’ll play it! Recommend you bring an actual CD disc, or MP3 player (with 
headphone jack type port) as the media.
o $5, pay at the door (cash or check). Please bring your own water / refreshments.
Location for this event: 1801 Alexandria Dr. (Arthur Murray Dance Studio) , Suite 103, Lexington, KY; in Gardenside Shopping Center, across from Kroger.

Friday, June 5th, 2026: Swingin' on Main returns to downtown Lexington for 2026! Location: Phoenix Park, corner of Main and Limestone Streets, Lexington, KY.
Phoenix Park is right next to the Downtown Public Library; the park went through an extensive renovation and reopened in September of 2025. There is a stage for a band,
plus a very good sized flat area for dancing in front of the stage!
For 2026, Swingin' in Main will be a paired with the Parks & Rec program “Phoenix After 5" - after 5 pm, that is!

> > Food and refreshments available from food trucks parked on Main and Limestone. Note there are also several restaurants near Phoenix Park.

o 5:00 - 5:30 pm: Swing dance lesson taught by the Hepcats.
o 5:30 - 6:25 pm: First set by the band.
o 6:25 - 6:50 pm: Break for the band; dance contest, with cash prizes, during the band's break!
o 6:50 - 7:50pm: Second set by the band.
